David Collison designed the sound, and I the lighting, for the truly epic Lionel Bart musical: “BLITZ!.” False modesty aside, it remains one of the most extraordinary spectacles ever seen: The 1940 bombing of London—live onstage! Designer Sean Kenny was truly a genius, if sort of crazy, Irishman. Noel Coward said: “Twice as long and twice as loud as the real thing, but only half as amusing.”

David Collison operated his own amazing sound track, and on the last night of the run he recorded the stage management channels that were running the show. This long forgotten recording is resurrected as a tribute to great stage managers everywhere!
